Frequently asked questions
Everything about deploying, limits and managing sites on Free HTML Host.
Is Free HTML Host really free?
Yes. Deploying a site at freehtmlhost.com/your-name costs nothing and requires no account. There are no paid plans — every feature is free for everyone.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Your first deploy works without an email or password. An account is only needed if you want to manage many sites from one dashboard.
Can I upload a whole website, not just one file?
Yes — zip your static site (with an index.html at the root) and upload the archive. We extract it and serve the entry file. CSS, JS and images inside the zip are kept.
What kinds of sites can I host?
Anything static: portfolios, landing pages, résumés, event invites, demos, documentation exports, link-in-bio pages. No server-side code (PHP, Node, databases) is executed.
How fast will my changes go live?
Instantly. Redeploys replace the previous version the moment you confirm — no cache purging, no waiting period.
Is my site secure?
Every site is served over HTTPS with an automatically managed SSL certificate. Static hosting means there is no server-side code of yours that can be attacked.
Can I use my own domain?
Not at the moment. All sites live at freehtmlhost.com/your-name — share that link directly, and we keep the TLS certificate renewed for you.
How long do sites stay online?
Sites that receive visits stay online indefinitely. Sites with no visitors for 6 months may be archived to keep the platform fast for everyone — you can redeploy the same name anytime.
Can I password-protect a site?
No. Sites are public by design — don't publish anything you wouldn't want shared.
What happens if someone uploads something abusive?
Phishing, malware and illegal content are prohibited and removed on report. Use the report link in the footer or on any site's /_abuse page to flag it — we review every report.
Is there a file size limit?
Uploads are capped at 10 MB per deploy (2 MB when pasting code) — the same limits for everyone, with no upgrade required.
Can I edit my site after deploying?
Yes. Open /editor, enter the site name, and edit the HTML in place. Saving requires the edit key your first deploy saved in this browser.
What happens if I lose my edit key?
The edit key is issued on your first deploy and stored only in that browser. If it's lost, the site stays online but can no longer be updated or deleted from your side — the workaround is deploying a fresh copy under a new name.
Can I use free HTML hosting without registration?
Yes — that is the point. Free HTML Host works without registration: no email, no password, no account screen between you and a live site. Deploy, edit and redeploy anonymously; an account is only ever needed if you want to manage many sites from one dashboard.
Is Free HTML Host a pastebin?
It's a free HTML host pastebin with a superpower: your paste doesn't stay a paste. A pastebin shows your code as text; Free HTML Host renders it as a real website at its own URL — shareable, printable and openable by anyone, not just developers.
Can I use it for temporary HTML hosting?
Absolutely. Event invites, launch pages, demo links, one-day staging URLs — temporary HTML hosting is a core use case. Pages stay online as long as they keep getting visitors, and you can delete a site from the editor whenever the event is over.
How do I convert HTML to a website?
Paste your HTML into the editor or drop a .html file on the deploy widget, pick a name, and hit deploy — that's the whole conversion. Your HTML is served as-is at freehtmlhost.com/your-name, and the built-in live preview lets you see the rendered page before it goes public.
